So blogging hasn't been my biggest priority lately.. Sorry for that. It seems that our teachers decided to kill us with homework, papers and presentations this week... Don't worry, I'm still alive, but it could be a bit more quiet around here for the next week too.
As I told you before, shopping in Jordan hasn't been much to write home about. After browsing through the endless racks of clothes at the several malls in Amman I realised shopping for the sake of having something new, and buying something just because it was 'cheap' doesn't interest me anymore. I discussed this topic briefly on my facebook page last week, but cheap stores like Primark, Forever21 & co. are no longer on my to-do list, as most of their clothes are made in sweatshops in Asia (we all remember the Bangladesh clothing factory drama...) and I just don't think it's right. I've always been raised in an eco-conscious family and since we've been talking about sustainability and environment issues in class this week, I've started questioning my living and shopping habits. I try to live and eat healthy, buy organic and fairtrade products, save energy etc. and now it's time to adapt my shopping habits. I'd rather save up a bit more to get something with great quality than buy crappy pieces that have been produced by people for less than $1 a day. It's so easy to just give in and get that Primark sweater because its so damn cheap, but RESIST. I. WILL.

What is your opinion on conscious fashion?
PS: I know some of the items in this collage aren't considered conscious shopping (or affordable for that matter - $1000 silk trousers, anyone?), but you can't go cold turkey from one day to another, right? ;)
Oh these boots... After searching every Zara store in Jordan (two, to be exact. I like drama), I finally found the Miu Miu lookalike boots I'd been wanting for months. I was kind of reluctant at first cause Zara shoes always give me the worst blisters, but these are so comfortable! I'm definitely happy that the weather has gotten chilly in Amman (although we just had a really warm & sunny weekend - make up your mind, weather!), so I'll probably wear these every single day. Don't say I didn't warn you!
I know, I'm really behind on my travel reports and on blogging in general, sorry! My internet connection is just the slowest and ficklest thing in the world - if it were a guy, we'd broken up hundreds of times by now. Thank God I'm moving apartments in two weeks and I'll be having proper wifi there! Anyway, here are some pictures of my trip to Wadi Rum a few weeks ago - we spend the entire day cruising around in a jeep (I even got to drive it for a while!) exploring the desert and enjoying the spectacular views. We slept in a camp literally in the middle of the desert, which I can definitely recommend: the atmosphere was amazing and we could see so many stars at night, hashtag romantic! I'll just let the pictures do the talking again, hope you enjoy!
Five of my current favourite black boots, I can't decide if should I finally get some overknee (or knee-high) boots or stay low and go for those furry stiletto boots I've been drooling over. What's your favourite?
On our second day in Petra we kind of took it slow: We'd pretty much seen all the big sights the day before so we slept a bit longer and arrived at the Treasury around 11, ready to start hiking all the way up to the High Place of Sacrifice, from where we had an amazing view over the valley. We stayed up here for almsot two hours to have lunch (which consisted of chips, nuts, a banana and peanut butter cups - gotta get some energy!) and just relax, I'm sure you can't blame me if you see the view! In the afternoon we walked back down through the Butterfly Valley, where we saw the most amazing natural coloured rocks. The sunset on the Royal Tombs was the perfect ending to our two-day trip.
