Black & white summer

I've decided that this summer I will be dressed in black & white. It's such a chic colour (or non-colour actually) combination that never gets old. If I had all the money in the world, I would buy all these pieces above. Alas, the state of my bank balance is looking sadder than ever, so I'll have to resort to budget options to fulfill my fashion needs. Luckily I did find a replacement for almost every piece from my above wishlist at high street stores or online.

black&white budget edition

Zara crossover top - Zara shoulder bag - Ann-Sofie BACK shirt dress - Persunmall striped blouse
Persunmall cow print shorts - Nelly sandals - River Island mesh top - Nelly leopard sneakers
Asos sandals - Bardot leatherette shorts

Not bad, right? I actually ordered the Asos sandals in black a few days ago (they were 50% off. I'm weak...) and all the rest I really want to click home. The Zara sale is starting tomorrow so I'm hoping to find some nice pieces there too! Although let's be honest: the first day of the Zara sale is always hell on earth: people going crazy and the prices aren't discounted a lot (79,95 to 69,95 euros, not so wow, eh?)
Are you loving the black & white trend as much as I do?

Hello freedom

This is the face of a person who just finished her exams yesterday and is now free as a bird! My last exam went pretty well too, so it's safe to say I'm quite happy. I went out for sushi with my boyfriend at lunch and some fries and burgers with friends in the evening! Just give me food and I'm happy. Ok, and shopping: I'm going for a little shopping spree at Primark in Liège tomorrow! Toda I'm planning on doing some cleaning (ok, a lot), making a banana zucchini bread with chocolate chips (that's about all I have left in my fridge and cupboard) and go for a run (work those chocolate bread calories back off, eh?) later on. Best of all? I woke up at 10AM without having to set my alarm for the first time in a month. Ahhh, the good life.

Recycled

Well there's no denying that the nineties are back: a few days ago I was watching an old episode of Friends where Rachel was wearing an outfit just like mine. This skirt was actually a dress my mum bought a few years ago but never wore it, so she passed it on to my sister (who didn't wear it either) so I took it out of her closet and asked my mum to turn it into a skirt. Talk about recycling! I was inspired by this outfit from WeWoreWhat (my number one blog crush!) to wear it with a crop top and Allstars: the perfect casual outfit! I'm on my last days of studying right now (Tuesday is my last exam, fingers crossed!) and I'm getting really tired (I took a 4 hour nap yesterday, whoops) but I just have to suck it out now! Enjoy your weekend babes.

Jumpsuit fever

jumpsuit fever

I've reallen gotten into the jumpsuit trend lately! Breezy and light yet chique. And when I'll be spending one semester in Cairo, Egypt they would come in handy (although seeing how my exams have been so far, I might not even get to my master's degree, haha). These are some of my favourites - the first one isn't exactly in my price range but I love the design. And I get my bambi eyes out and ask my mum to make me one. Pretty please?
What do you think about jumpsuits, yay or nay?

Pajama dressing

One of the wost things that happen while studying: you're all dressed up down in sweatpants (or pajama's if you're really lazy... ahem), your greasy hair in a messy top knot and dark circles under your eyes, ready to study your ass off. And then the inevitable happens: you're out of green tea/toilet paper/chocolate/whatever and you need to get out to the OUTSIDE WORLD. So what do you do? You throw on your most comfy pants, an old pyjama top you found under a pile of clothes, your good old Converse sneakers, a jacket (you don't actually want people to see you're wearing a pyjama top with Hello Kitty on the front/back...), grab a pair of sunglasses and you're ready to go! At least, that's how I made up this outfit. Don't judge me.

En Vogue

I'm not really a religious Vogue-reader (there's not much in it I can afford anyway, and I already find loads of inspiration online) but I like to have some fashion reading material on the long trainrides home - always gives me an instant glamorous feeling when I'm reading Vogue while other people are doing crosswords or sleeping (snorting included). I couldn't resist this month's Vogue Netherlands that came with this free T-shirt: I'm a sucker for free stuff! (Not those sticky lipglosses you sometimes get with Glamour though. Not worth it) Since I'm all for wearing comfy clothes while studying (not really though) I've been wearing this t-shirt nonstop the past weeks. Especially with loose shorts, hashtag pyjama dressing. On Friday I wore this to my first exam (which didn't go too well but yeah...) with this leather skirt I bought at the thrift store and altered into this mini skirt. A word of advice: leather skirts and exam chairs don't match. Sticky, sweaty and oh so squeaky. The things we do in the name of fashion...

Simple

Just a simple study outfit today - I'm sorry for the lack of outfit posts lately, exams are just a bit more important right now! I have my first exam on Friday, and my bachelor paper is due the Monday after that, so I'm trying to finish that one this weekend so I don't have to worry about it anymore. It's weird how I was struggling with my writing in the beginning but the more I write, the more I get inspired! If any of you are interested, the subject of my paper is 'Fundamentalism in Western Europe: The Ideology and Motives of Radical Islamist Movements'. Sounds fancy, no? ;) Enjoy your Sunday!
